Oulu Sinfonia invites video applications for the temporary position of trumpet player.
Oulu Sinfonia is composed of 61 musicians and is the northernmost symphony orchestra in Finland. Oulu Sinfonia performs traditional symphony concerts, as well as a wide range of musical genres. Madetoja hall at the Oulu Music Center has 816 seats.
The task is to act as trumpet player in the symphony orchestra. The position also includes an obligation to play Bb and C trumpets and German Bb and C trumpets. The trumpet player is expected to maintain his/her playing skills and carry out all other tasks within the area of responsibility. The position requires excellent playing skills and good social interaction skills.
Bonuses for previous work experience shall be added to the pay in accordance with the Collective Agreement along with compensations for costume and musical instrument. In addition, will be paid locally agreed media and media usage compensation.
1. video – concerto
Joseph Haydn: Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major on B-flat trumpet (with or without piano accompaniment) until bar 117 (7 bars after the top E-flat).
2. video – excerpts
The candidate can use the trumpet of their choice except for Bach which has to be played on piccolo. You can choose the order of the excerpts in your recording. All the excerpts will be played in on continuous recording without any cuts in editing.

We expect applicants to submit two separate videos as an unlisted on YouTube. The first video presenting task number 1 and the second video presenting task number 2. Each video should be recorded so that the musician is fully visible on camera. The link to the video applications should be sent via email to the following address rauno.rankinen@ouka.fi before 24th of November 2024 at 11.59 pm (Finnish time).

The City of Oulu applies a probationary period of six (6) months in this position.
The selection will be made during week 49, and applicants will be informed of the decision via email.
