August is traditionally outreach month for the Oulu Sinfonia. During the month, 62 concerts will be performed all over Oulu. Among these are several concerts that are open to everyone. These include the String orchestra’s concerts at venues such as Food & Co Restaurant Medusa and Food & Co Restaurant Smarthouse, as well as at Valkea Shopping Center.
The brass and percussion players of the Oulu Sinfonia will be joined by Tom Poulson, head of the brass department at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Together with Poulson, the musicians will perform at Ylikiiminki Church and Oulu Cathedral.
You can see the full orchestra at Oulu Sinfonia Open at the Hupisaari Open-Air Theatre. This concert has already become a tradition.
