Georg Friedrich Handel Water Music Suite No 1. in F Major, HWV 348
The era of Baroque music, which emphasized ornamentation and explored new possibilities for instruments, reached its peak in the early decades of the 18th century. In France, Jean-Philippe Rameau elevated court dances to new splendor, while in England, Georg Friedrich Handel organized spectacles for the entertainment of the royal court. In Italy, Antonio Vivaldi allowed violin soloists to freely express themselves. The concert will be conducted by the highly esteemed conductor of Baroque music, Nicholas McGegan.
