Opera as an art form has lived through over 400 years of evolutionary development from the early baroque period through classicism and the romantic period up to the present, but its core has remained the same: opera is the expression of universal emotions and life-shattering events. Death, love, seduction and lies – only the Italians could compose such enchantingly beautiful arias about the inexplicable states of the human mind. The opera class from the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki and singing students from the Oulu University of Applied Sciences will bring the spiciest melodies from Venice, Verona and Milan on a trip to the Madetoja Hall.
In co-operation with: University of the Arts Helsinki and Oulu University of Applied Sciences
