The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of the most universally beloved operas. Its central message lies in the beauty brought forth when traveling with a hefty dose of both wisdom and insanity. The Magic Flute rekindles the human capability to suspend one’s disbelief: to imagine new worlds and create fantastic stories.

Oulu Theatre brings The Magic Flute to the stage by the means of a classic theatric fairy tale. The timeless characters wander in the depths of despair, grasping at any trace of love. The heroes must venture far in order to find the light of life. Thankfully they won’t have to travel without the helping hand of magical aides. The Magic Flute transports the spectator both to the mythical past and to a future utopia.
