Prokofiev Festival: Peter and the Wolf

Mischievous yet clever, Peter ventures into the meadow against his grandfather’s warnings. The gate to the home yard is left wide open, and soon a lurking wolf in the vicinity catches wind of Peter and his animal friends, intending to make them his dinner. There’s no time to waste now!

Peter and the Wolf is a musical fairy tale that has entertained children and adults for generations, offering an introduction to the fascinating world of the orchestra. Each character in the story has their own theme and instrument: Peter is represented by strings, the duck by the oboe, the wolf by the French horns, the cat by the clarinet, the grandfather by the bassoon, and the hunters by the menacing rumble of the timpani. Guiding the plot amidst Prokofiev’s unforgettable melodies is the award-winning actress Alma Pöysti.

The immersive concert environment has been created as part of the Cultural Digitalization Competence Center KUDOS project, funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as the cities of Oulu, Kuopio, Jyväskylä, and Lahti. How to enter your school group to the daytime concerts

Enter your group to the school concert by sending an e-mail to oulusinfonia@ouka.fi no later than on Wednesday 28th August 2024.

Please include the following information to your e-mail:

• in which concert are you participating
• the name of the school
• the contact person: name, e-mail address and telephone number
• how many students and how many teachers does your group include
• does your group include persons with special needs, i.e. wheel chair
• are you paying on arrival or do you prefer an invoice
• billing address (internal invoice to the schools belonging to the City of Oulu organization, external invoice to others).
