Oulu Music Festival: Time, Silence and Sound

Over the past decades, contemporary composers on both shores of the Gulf of Finland have turned toward melancholy, meditation, and also spirituality. The internationally renowned Estonian Arvo Pärt contemplates profound ecclesiastical mysteries in his music, but many other composers as well have sought out eternal myths or reflected on traditional questions of human sorrow and suffering.

The concert Time, Silence and Sound presents works that explore such deep waters and major philosophical questions from Finland and Estonia, performed by a selection of Finnish artists who rank among the very finest in the field of chamber music.

The Formula of Love – Tracing the Work of Arvo Pärt exhibition, the orchestral concert To Another Dimension, and the chamber concert Time, Silence, and Sound are organized in collaboration with Oulu Sinfonia, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, and Oulu Music Festival. The Arvo Pärt program series is part of the Oulu Music Festival and the festival’s Oulu2026 project Bridge of Sounds.

Available through Ticketmaster Finland nationwide. Prices include handling fees. Tickets without handling fees are available from the Valve ticket office. A service fee of €3 per order will be charged for purchases from the Ticketmaster ticket shop, or €1.50 per order when purchasing from the Ticketmaster online store.

The concert is part of the Oulu Music Festival’s Chamber Music season ticket. Oulu Music Festival season tickets are on sale from November 25, 2025, to February 15, 2026.
