One Thousand and One Nights

The winner of the 2022 International Maj Lind Piano Competition, Piotr Pawlak, will visit Oulu. The Pole, praised for his intelligent interpretations, will play Sergey Rachmaninoff’s third piano concerto, the untamable and mythical behemoth, which rose again to world fame through the 1996 film Shine. Known for his dazzling orchestrations, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s magnum opus Scheherazade invites the listener for a symphonic flight of the imagination in the Arabian atmosphere of the One Thousand and One Nights.
