CANCELLED: Northern Infinity

Public events in Norhern Ostrobothnia have been cancelled until 31.1.2022, and at the moment there is no information if the ban will end or continue. We are unfortunately forced to cancel the Northern Infinity -concert. Due to the nature of the concert, it can not be streamed. Since there is at the moment no information about when the public events are possible again, we are forced to make the decision. 

Northern infinity is an evening with the music of multifaceted composer and musician Lauri Porra. The evening opens with a new work titled Northern infinity, creating an ambient-inspired, meditative soundspace in the concert hall. Porra joins the orchestra with his bass guitar to perform movements from Memento, his bass concerto. For the second half of the programme, the orchestra is joined by the Flyover Ensemble, performing music written for the group in orchestrally arranged versions. The resulting symphony aspires to reach the looseness and improvisational freedom of a rock and jazz group, and to combine it with the deep and majestic sounds of a symphony orchestra.
