Fate Symphony

The hypnotic sonorities and otherworldly harmonies of Estonian master Arvo Pärt have captivated audiences far beyond classical music circles. His 1977 composition Fratres is one of Pärt’s most beloved works. Alisson Kruusmaa continues Pärt’s legacy with her unique voice.

Five Arabesques, based on a poem by Herman Hesse, has earned international praise for its dreamlike texture, resonating with fans of both Björk and Bach.

The recently departed Sofia Gubaidulina was one of the most significant composers and musical storytellers of the late 20th century. Her 1997 impromptu invites the orchestra’s own virtuosos, violinist Lasse Joamets and flautist Emma Tessier, to engage in poetic playfulness, inspired by the spirit of Franz Schubert.

Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fate Symphony stands as a cornerstone of Western concert music. It was born as the crossroads of Viennese Classicism and Romanticism, beginning with perhaps the most universally recognized motif in the world: ta-ta-ta-taaa!
