In this program, the Oulu Sinfonia Chamber Musicians open a space where music speaks intimately — through breath, colour and the quiet power of listening.
This program is also a special occasion: a rare moment to welcome pianist Risto Lauriala into the chamber season of Oulu Sinfonia Chamber Musicians. His presence brings depth, tradition, and a sense of continuity to a program woven with personal musical memories and some of the finest gems of the chamber repertoire.
The evening begins with Robert Schumann, whose Adagio und Allegro unfolds like a confession: first a slow, tender line shaped with inward warmth, then a burst of fiery brilliance.
Johannes Brahms’ Violin Sonata No. 2 opens a world of luminous warmth: the Allegro amabile sings with gentle affection, while the following movements shift naturally between introspection and light, graceful motion.
After the intermission, Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Archduke” Trio brings the program to its grand arc. Broad and generous in spirit, it is chamber music that breathes deeply and moves with noble clarity, ending in a finale full of bright, confident energy.
