The Snowman

What would Christmas be without The Snowman? The half-hour animated movie based on the story by children’s author Raymond Briggs has had a place in the Finnish TV and Christmas Eve since 1992. The film tells the touching story of a little boy who, together with the snowman he built in his backyard, sets out on an unforgettable journey over the roofs of the city. Howard Blake composed the music for the film, which is best remembered for the wistful tune Walking in the Air.

By popular demand, Oulu Sinfonia presents The Snowman, seen on the screen and heard live in the concert hall in a concert conducted by Teemu Takanen.

Free entry to the concert for Kaikukortti holders (limited amount, must be purchased in advance from Oulu10 service point).

Prices include service fee. Order fee 3 €/order when bought from Ticketmaster shops or 1,50 €/order when bought from Ticketmaster online shop will be added, excluding tickets purchased at Oulu Sinfonia ticket booth and Kaikukortti-tickets.

How to enter your school group to the daytime concerts

Enter your group to the school concert by sending an e-mail to oulusinfonia@ouka.fi no later than on Monday 25th November 2024.

Please include the following information to your e-mail:

• in which concert you are participating
• the name of the school
• the contact person: name, e-mail address and telephone number
• how many students and how many teachers does your group include
• does your group include persons with special needs, i.e. wheel chair
• are you paying on arrival or do you prefer an invoice
• billing address (internal invoice to the schools belonging to the City of Oulu organization, external invoice to others).
