Don Juan

Carl Maria con Weber, a pioneer of romanticism, hit the hearts of Germans with The Magic Shooter, the best of which is summed up in a chivalrous overture. In his bassoon concerto, he discovered aspects of the instrument that had not even been searched for before. The concerto’s entertaining twists and turns are led by the Oulu Sinfonia’s principal bassoon Eri Ikeda.

Depictions of tragic love, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture and Richard Strauss’s Don Juan are among the most glorious achievements in music history.
