If you like chamber music with harp, you shouldn’t miss Oulu Symphony Orchestra’s Chamber Musicians’ upcoming concert program which will be performed twice: on April 15th at the Tulindberg Hall and on April 16th in the Kierikki Stone Age Center, both at 15:00.
On Harp Wings concert opens with Francis Poulenc’s sonata for oboe and piano, his last composition, dedicated to Prokofiev, and mirroring reminiscences and profoundness of the composer’s entire life.
The program continues with harp-based music during which significant roles are given to our flutist and three string players, exploring first the unique timbre of Debussy’s trio for flute, viola and harp and then the sonorities of three quintets, not too often performed, by Albert Roussel, Jean Françaix and Nino Rota, that we encounter for the second time in our programs this year, in connection to Oulu Symphony Orchestra’s current season’s theme.
